About Us

Our Mission

To empower individuals, students, and industries by making computational engineering accessible, practical, and impactful. Through our integrated platform, we envision a future where anyone can access quality CFD education, solve real-world problems through expert-led consultancy, and harness scalable cloud computing resources — all in one place.

Who we are

Flowthermolab is a global platform for computational engineering, specializing in CFD, FEA, and simulation-driven product development. We are based at the University of Nottingham Innovation Park (UK) and operate in India as Flowthermolab Pvt Ltd, serving clients and learners around the world.

We began as a mission to deliver high-quality, affordable education in advanced engineering topics has grown into a complete platform offering expert-led consultancy, specialized training, and cloud-based computing resources — all in one place. Our community spans over 73 countries, including students, researchers, and engineers from industry, all working to master computational tools and solve real-world engineering challenges.
We work with companies globally, delivering consultancy services in CFD, FEA, and engineering software development. With a combination of commercial tools, open-source expertise, and in-house HPC and cloud infrastructure, we provide cost-effective, scalable, and impactful simulation solutions.
We are proudly supported by Innovate UK, the UK Government’s national innovation agency, as part of our journey to scale and deliver high-impact computational engineering solutions at a global level.
Quality, integrity, and timely delivery are at the core of everything we do. Whether you’re a student looking to upskill or an organization aiming to innovate, Flowthermolab is your trusted partner in computational engineering.

Dr. Sandeep Mouvanal

Dr. Sandeep Mouvanal is the Founder and CEO of Flowthermolab, a comprehensive platform for computational engineering. Driven by a passion for research, CFD, and teaching, he built Flowthermolab to not only bridge the gap between academia and industry, but also to empower small and mid-sized companies in developing in-house CFD capabilities, solving real-world engineering challenges, and accessing cost-effective, high-quality simulation expertise.
The platform delivers an integrated offering of consultancy services, specialized training, and cloud-based computing resources — making it a complete solution for engineers, students, and companies alike.

Dr. Mouvanal has over 15 years of international industry experience across India, Germany, and the UK, having worked with renowned companies such as Continental Automotive, Honeywell, and HCL Technologies. His work has spanned engine systems, turbochargers, aero-engine bearing chambers, and the thermal management of electrification components, applying both commercial and open-source CFD tools to deliver innovative, scalable solutions across industries.

He earned his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Kannur University, graduating with University Second Rank, and went on to complete both his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering (specializing in CFD) from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM). He later completed a postdoctoral research position at the University of Nottingham (UK), where he worked on the EU-funded AERIS project (Clean Sky 2) in collaboration with Rolls-Royce and Ansys. In parallel, he also taught Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to undergraduate and master’s students at the university.

Dr. Mouvanal has authored numerous research papers and patents, contributing to advancements in fluid dynamics, thermal systems, and computational simulation technologies. His career reflects a unique blend of academic depth and industrial application — a foundation that continues to shape Flowthermolab’s mission of delivering real-world impact through computational engineering.
